‘Century of Flight’ on River City Weekly
This week “River City Weekly” takes you from the bottom of Lake Michigan to the cloud tops above Lawrence to show how a World War II warbird was rescued and restored and to meet two area veterans who flew Grumman F4F-3 Wildcats.
Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 news anchor Josh Garber brings you “Rescuing the Wildcat.” Dean Allen, a Lawrence veteran, also joins Garber to share stories of piloting Wildcats in World War II.
The program is part of the “Century of Flight” series commemorating 100 years since the Wright brothers’ flight.
River City Weekly premieres on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays with encore presentations at 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. Saturdays.
