Sooners win eighth straight

? Maria Villarroel scored 24 points, and Dionnah Jackson added 15 in No. 14 Oklahoma’s 79-52 victory over Stephen F. Austin Saturday.

Villarroel shot 10-of-12 from the field, and Jackson went 7-of-13 with five assists for OU (8-0).

Backup Britany Vinson scored 18 points, shooting 4-of-7 on three-pointers for Stephen F. Austin (0-7). Kirby Killingsworth added 10 points.

The Sooners outscored Stephen F. Austin in the paint 26-6 during the first half and led 42-28 at the break.

The Sooners also forced 27 turnovers, including nine by Tiffany Perkins.

Texas A&M 74,

McNeese State 48

College Station, Texas — Toccara Williams had 14 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and five steals to lead Texas A&M over McNeese State.

Mindy Garrison added 13 points, and Tamea Scales had 10 points for the Aggies (5-2), who led 36-18 at halftime. Regina Spivey led McNeese State (2-5) with 16 points. Shamika Stewart added 10 points, and Shamecha Bender had seven points and nine rebounds.

McNeese shot just 28 percent in the first half and 34 percent for the game. A&M forced 29 turnovers, with three McNeese players losing the ball five times each.
