Although they epitomized the gross-out humor of the last decade with films such as "There's Something About Mary," the Farrelly brothers have tried to tone down their material lately. With "Stuck On You" they've taken a potentially outrageous idea - a comedy about conjoined twins - and turned it into a funny time-passer that avoids true edginess in favor of sentimentality. Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear are at the center of the gags, which escalate when one of the brothers decides to move to L.A. to pursue a career in acting.

Few teen comedies from the 1980s were clamoring for a remake less than "Can't Buy Me Love," but Hollywood has decided to update the forgettable tale anyway. In "Love Don't Cost a Thing," Drumline's Nick Cannon plays a nerd who becomes popular after paying a cheerleader to give him a social makeover.

And speaking of old ideas, there's the romantic comedy "Something's Gotta Give." Diane Keaton stars as an uptight playwright who is repulsed to find her daughter dating an older playboy played by Jack Nicholson. Then she begins to find the aging hipster attractive herself.
