RICHMOND ? Central Heights’ Vinnie Wuertz torched Tonganoxie High for 31 points, and the Vikings rallied for a 55-51 boys basketball victory Tuesday in the Heights tournament.

“We knew they had an outstanding player in Wuertz,” Tongie coach David Walker said. “We needed to limit what some of their other guys did.”

Derek Sparks led Tonganoxie with 15 points. Kirk Rodell, Justin Walker and Mike Morris each added eight.

Tongie will face Burlington Thursday in the tournament’s consolation bracket.
