Erma D. ‘Dee’ Garcia

De Soto ? Memorial services for Erma D. “Dee” Garcia, 78, De Soto, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in De Soto.

Mrs. Garcia died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at her home.

She was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Center Ridge, Ark., the daughter of Verne and Alta Sutterfield.

Mrs. Garcia owned the Horseshoe cafe in the early 1960s and the Butcher Block restaurant in the late 1970s, both in De Soto. She also worked at many restaurants in the area.

She married Harry Garcia, who died earlier.

Survivors include three sons, Verne Young, Kansas City, Kan., Ted Young, Fairfield, Ohio, and Terry Fisher, Bonner Springs; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel.
