Ivan William Rappard

? Services for Ivan William Rappard, 91, Raymore, Mo., will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Raymore. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Worden.

Mr. Rappard died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Oct. 7, 1912, in Globe, Kan., the son of Henry A. and Matilda Rappard.

Mr. Rappard worked at Pippert’s Auto Parts and was an instrument technician for Farmland Industries until he retired to Bella Vista, Ark. He was a lay leader and Sunday school teacher at Lawrence Episcopal United Brethren church and was chairman of the church’s trustees, who helped build the present church at 1501 Mass. He was active with the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. He also served on the board of trustees in Bella Vista and helped to establish the United Methodist Church there.

He married Opal May Landis on Sept. 29, 1938, in Kansas City, Mo. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Janice Klamm and Pat Linnhoff; a son, Ronald; two sisters, Leona Pippert and Mae Burgert, both of Lawrence; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Thursday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

The family suggests memorials to the church.
