Is it really going to snow this time?

You’ll definitely see some mist and rain today. And, if you’re out late tonight, you might even see a little snow, says Matt Sayers, 6News meteorologist.

“We will see a rain-snow mix,” Sayers said. “I don’t think we will see any accumulations at all.”

Today’s temperatures will top out at 46. But it will feel colder because of strong winds, gusting to 20 mph.

Sayers said there will be some light rain and drizzle starting to fall in the afternoon.

“After sunset, the system really intensifies. Then rain showers develop across eastern Kansas,” he said.”Through the early morning hours, the rain changes to a rain-snow mix.”

Sayers didn’t expect early-morning commuters to have much trouble.

“Bridges and roads will not be a problem in the morning, other than being wet,” he said.

“Wednesday morning, the heavier precipitation will be pushing out of here by 8 a.m.,” he said. The early morning low will be 33.

Through Wednesday morning, we can expect clouds and a few light showers. Wednesday’s temperatures will stay cool, topping out just shy of the 40 degree mark.

Wednesday night, clouds remain, with the temperatures dropping down to 27 by Thursday morning.

Temperatures will remain cool Thursday, warming up to only 32, with maybe a few snowflakes flying around Thursday night, he said.

Friday morning’s temperatures will dip down to 21 degrees under cloudy skies.

Friday will be the coldest day of the week, with a high of 34 under mostly cloudy skies, he said.

“We’ll see sunshine and near normal temperatures on the weekend,” he said.
