Flory-Mortenson

Katie Jane Flory and Dustin Mortenson were married July 12, 2003, in Lawrence with the Rev. Bill Vogler officiating.

The bride’s parents are Don and Kathy Flory, Baldwin. The groom’s parents are George and Clara Mortenson, Oak Harbor, Wash., and Oralee and Phillip Sibona, Baldwin.

Kelly Flory Carr and Kristin Flory Thompson were matrons of honor. Betsy Bowman was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Denlinger and Karen Flory.

Travis Dillon was best man. Groomsmen were Coy Weege, Tim Moore, Linc Mortenson and Jason Franklin. Jove Mortenson was junior groomsman. Bethany Denlinger was junior bridesmaid. Carter Wintermantel was flower girl.

Ushers were Pete Carr, Michael Purmont, Ryan Lievrance, Heath Sigg and Loren Thompson. Junior ushers were Taylor Jones and Evan Jones.

The reception was at the Flory farm, the home of the bride’s parents, Baldwin.

The bride is a graduate of Baldwin High School and is employed by S. Kirk Vincent, DDS, Lawrence.

The groom is a graduate of Baldwin High School. He received a bachelor of science in education at Kansas University. He is employed by De Soto school district.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Duff-Leatherman

Kylee Duff, Prairie Village, and Dr. Chris Leatherman, Overland Park, were married Dec. 28, 2002, at the Fairmont Hotel on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo., with Brett Barth-Fagan officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Marcia Kerr, Lawrence. She is the granddaughter of John and Betty Chaney, Lawrence.

The groom is the son of Larry and Judy Leatherman, Erie, Colo. He is the grandson of Lenora Hooper, Perryton, Texas.

Junior maid of honor was Alex Leatherman. Junior bridesmaid was Grace Brahler. Dani Mitchell was flower girl. Ring bearers were Shane Schaake and Shilo Schaake.

Witnesses were Susan Schultz and Adrien Catania. George Brahler II played the trumpet. Music was provided by Collin Hosek, Max Paley, Dave Shelton and Kyle O’Neal.

A reception took place at the rooftop ballroom and bar in the Fairmont Hotel.

The bride is a 1989 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1994 graduate of Kansas State University. She is a project manager for Cerner Corp. in Kansas City, Mo.

The groom is a 1984 graduate of Ponca City Senior High School, Ponca City, Okla. He graduated from Oklahoma State University. He received a doctorate in 2001 from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Mo. He is self-employed as a chiropractor in Kansas City, Mo.

The couple reside in Prairie Village.

Heiserman-Rowland

Amber Heiserman, Lawrence, and Scott Rowland, Newton, were married May 30, 2003, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lawrence, with the Rev. Charles Polifka officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Lynn Heiserman, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Marion and Carolyn Rowland, Peabody, and Glenda Rowland, Whitewater.

Maid of honor was Sommer Heiserman. Best man was Gabe Zeckser. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Marks, Ashley Zeckser, Jana Smoot and Ashley Rowland. Groomsmen were Mike Terry, Tom Spencer, Eric Reed and Cameron Taylor.

Ushers were Andrew Thornton, Kevin Gaunt, Donnie Hobson and Alan Kao. Flower girls were Katie Bunce and Megan Knopp. Alex Allmon was ring bearer. Candle lighters were Derek Knopp and Elise Butler. Readers were Mark Knopp and Sommer Heiserman. Guest book attendants were Christina Thornton and Jordon Bunce. Program attendant was Collin Reidlinger. Gift attendants were Luke Ingraham and Riley Bunce.

Christopher Allmon, Jordan Bunce and Cole Bunce distributed petals to the guests.

A reception was at SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Lawrence.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Kansas University in 2001 and master’s degree in instructional technology in 2003.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Remington High School, Whitewater. He is pursuing an associate’s degree at Johnson County Community College.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Hawaii.

They reside in Lawrence.

Kampschroeder-True

Katherine Kampschroeder and John True were married Jan. 4, 2003, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence with the Rev. James Shaughnessy officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Halley and Joan Kampschroeder, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Tom and Jane True, Avoca, Iowa.

Megan Laurent and Kristin Kerrigan were matrons of honor. Jesse Garcia was best man. Bridesmaids were Katie True, Mandi Irlbeck and Kelly Miller. Honorary attendants were Angie Jeffries, Jaunelle Hamilton, Trysta Williams, Cassie Powell and Tiffany Pasley.

Groomsmen and ushers were Anthony Bologna, Jeremy Olesen, Jason Holst, James Irlbeck, Brit Laurent, John Kerrigan, Randall Porter and Grant Dennis.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2000 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is employed as a business consultant at Cerner Corp. in Kansas City, Mo.

The groom is a 1992 graduate of AvoHa Shelby-Tenant High School, Avoca, Iowa. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1995 from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa. He earned a juris doctorate in 1999 from UMKC. He is employed as an investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor in Kansas City, Mo.

The couple reside in Mission.

Wright-Salem

Sandra Wright and Elyes Ben Salem, both of Lawrence, were married May 25, 2003, in Lawrence with Judge Jack Murphy officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Barbara Wright, Sapulpa, Okla. The groom is the son of Mohammed Ben Salem and Leila Tekaya, Tunis, Tunisia.

Maid of honor was Debra Davidson. Best man was Erik Chaney. Tim Wright, Jamie Wright, Nicole Wright and Megan Wright were white rose bearers.

Richard and Constance Wright, and Thomas and Helen Shiel, grandparents of the bride, also were white rose bearers.

Jamie Janis was music coordinator for the ceremony.

A reception was in the Crystal Room at the Eldridge Hotel in downtown Lawrence.

The bride is a 1992 graduate of Charles Page High School, Sand Springs, Okla. She received a bachelor of science and a master of science in speech language pathology from the University of Tulsa. She is employed by the Olathe school district as a speech-language pathologist.

The groom is a 1990 graduate of Tunis High School. He received a bachelor of arts in English and literature from the University of Tunis. He received a master of arts in education from Kansas University. He is pursuing a doctorate in education and technology at KU. He is a graduate teaching assistant in the French and Italian department at KU.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Tallman-Richardson

Stephanie Tallman and Chad Richardson, both of Lawrence, were married June 14, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Baldwin with the Rev. Missy Black officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Larry and Nancy Tallman, Park City, Utah, and Joyce Tallman, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Diane Richardson, Lena, Ill., and the late Gary Richardson.

Maid of honor was Jennifer Tallman. Best man was Brett Richardson. Bridesmaids were Kristin Vernon and Camille Lauer. Groomsmen were Todd Richardson and Scott Tallman. Junior groomsmen was David Glauner.

Ring bearer was Lance Tallman. Whitney Tallman was flower girl. Ushers were Ed Moran and Brian Alt. Jeremy Ankney was an usher, videographer and musician. Camille Lauer wrote and performed special music with words written by the bride. Nathan and Karen Hensal were guest book attendants and hosts. Barbara Hannon was wedding consultant and scripture reader. Personal attendant was Ginny Schoneberg. April Sheppard and Amanda Sheppard handed out programs.

A dinner and dance reception was at the Wingert family building, south of Lawrence.

The bride is a 1994 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a degree in communications and business in December 2003 from Kansas University. She is pursuing a career in consulting.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Lena-Winslow High School, Lena, Ill. He received a degree in aerospace engineering in 1999. He is an aerospace engineer with DAR Corp. in Lawrence.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Givens-Felix

Rhonda Givens, Lawrence, and Jeffrey Felix, Overland Park, were married July 19, 2003, in Prairie Village with Mary Rowlands officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Jean Givens, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Jean Johnson, Overland Park, and Oscar Felix.

Matron of honor was Julie Pruitt. Best man was Curt Pruitt. Bridesmaid was Amy Givens. Groomsman was Larry Barnes. Organist was Melody Stroth. Rob and Theresa Temple were soloists. Lorna Lang was wedding coordinator.

The groom is a graduate of Chapperal High School, Las Vegas. He works at New Theatre Restaurant in Overland Park.
