Barr set for surgery

Los Angeles — Roseanne Barr will have a hysterectomy next week, possibly delaying the taping of her new ABC Family series, “Domestic Goddess,” her assistant said.

“It’s not life-threatening or anything,” Becky Pentland said Thursday. “She’s a real healthy person, so we hope she won’t be down very long.”

After tests earlier this week, doctors told the actress-comedian she should undergo the operation, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Pentland said.

“Domestic Goddess,” the cooking and lifestyle show that stars Barr, 50, is scheduled to premiere Sept. 20.

Blackout bursts Pop’s concert

Clarkston, Mich. — A high-wattage rock band and a venue named after a power company couldn’t make the show go on during the blackout that hit the state.

Iggy Pop & the Stooges had finished a sound check Thursday at DTE Energy Music Theatre and were headed back to their Auburn Hills hotel when the power went out, the Detroit Free Press reported on its Web site.

It was supposed to be the biggest Detroit rock reunion of the year: Iggy with brothers Ron and Scott Asheton performing their first hometown show in three decades, in front of what would have been a packed crowd of fans.

The concert was rescheduled for Aug. 25.

Frost files for divorce from Law

London — Sadie Frost said she had started divorce proceedings against Jude Law. The couple separated in January after more than five years of marriage.

“I have come very reluctantly to the decision that my marriage to Jude is over,” Frost said in a statement released Thursday by her publicist.

The couple, who were married in September 1997, have three children — Rudy, who was born in September; Rafferty; and a daughter, Iris.

Frost, 35, has a son from her previous marriage to Spandau Ballet star Gary Kemp.

Law, 30, was nominated in 2000 for a best-supporting Oscar for his role in Anthony Minghella’s “The Talented Mr. Ripley.” He worked with the filmmaker on the upcoming “Cold Mountain,” co-starring Nicole Kidman.

Last month, Kidman accepted a public apology and undisclosed damages from the British tabloid the Daily Mail to settle a libel suit against the newspaper, which suggested she had an affair with Law.

New York — Gwen Stefani’s new fashion brand, L.A.M.B., is making its first mark this fall with a limited-edition collection of handbags and accessories in a partnership with LeSportsac.

L.A.M.B. stands for love, angel, music, baby — words Stefani says are meaningful to her and often appear in her songs.

Many of the Gwen Stefani-L.A.M.B. for LeSportsac bags are made of black rip-stop nylon and covered with words and phrases in a white gothic font. The handles, made of graphic-print grosgrain tape, are fashioned to resemble guitar straps.

Of course, there’s a “concert bag,” a small 8-by-8 1/2-inch pouch.
