Construction projects

In addition to the student recreation center, other construction projects expected to be completed in the next few weeks:

Ellsworth Hall remodeling

Cost: $12.5 million

Description: The Daisy Hill residence hall will be converted to suite-style rooms from its traditional residence hall rooms. The suites will have their own bathrooms and kitchenettes. The renovations also include new fire sprinklers, electrical wiring and telecommunication equipment.

Eaton Hall

Cost: $15 million

Description: The new 80,000-square-foot engineering building, adjacent to Learned Hall, will include classrooms, 15 new labs, 25 graduate teaching assistant offices and 38 faculty offices. It also will have a 250-seat auditorium.

Hall Center for the Humanities

Cost: $5 million

Description: New home for the Hall Center, which will be 11,500 square feet, is set for construction to begin this month. It will include scription: Construction of a new scholarship hall in the 1300 block of Ohio Street should begin next summer. The hall would open in fall 2005.
