Lowe

Bob and Pat Lowe, of rural Douglas County, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this weekend with family at Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, Kan.

Robert Lowe and Patricia Westhoff were married Aug. 16, 1953, at the old Stanley Community Church in Stanley.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force, 63rd Air Rescue Squadron, for four years, Bob completed his education with a degree in school psychology from Pittsburg State College. He served as a school psychologist for the Dickinson County schools in Chapman before moving to Lawrence, where he worked for 32 years for USD 497. He retired from the district in 1996.

Pat received a degree in education from Kansas University. She taught for 25 years in the Wellsville district. She retired in 1996.

Their children are Patrick Lowe, Edgerton; Robbyn Van Horn, Baldwin; and Tammy Canterbury, Edgerton. They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Garrison

Delmer and Nadine Garrison, Oskaloosa, announce the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The couple were married Aug. 21, 1953, at the Linwood Methodist Church.

Delmer began his teaching and coaching career at Linwood High School in 1952. The couple moved in 1965 to Basehor, where Delmer taught and coached for 18 years.

The couple have three daughters, Debbie Kesinger, Diana Dowdall and Lisa Traglio, all of Leavenworth County. They also have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
