6News video: Art a la Carte

As summer dwindles to a close, live arts performances are harder and harder to come by. But Lawrence’s Bowery Dancers have one show left to tide audiences over until fall seasons begin. The group of college-age dancers has been giving free outdoor concerts in South Park since then. Their final summer show begins at 4:30 tomorrow afternoon and runs again at 7:30.

And count on these shows to be around for a few more weeks. At CornerBank, sculptures by Ron Hinton and Dave Vertacnik, abstract paintings by T. Watson Bogaard and origami creations by Nancy Loo Bjorge are on view during business hours at the bank.

And at the Lawrence Arts Center, two shows are in the gallery through the end of August. One features 15 large-scale paintings created by KU professor Robert Price through a process of meditation. The other highlights the work of Lawrence Arts Center faculty.
