Shore

Ben and Arliene Shore, Lawrence, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family on a Caribbean cruise.

Benjamin Shore and Arliene Reynolds were married April 25, 1943, at the home of the bride’s parents in Kansas City, Kan.

Ben served as a flight engineer in World War II. He graduated from Kansas University with a degree in business administration and had a career as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce in Rantoul, Ill.; Cairo, Ill.; Clarinda, Iowa; Danbury, Conn., and Laconia, N.H. He then became a partner in a family printing firm in Lawrence. He retired from the printing business in 1986. Arliene has been a homemaker.

They have three sons, Randall, Washington, D.C.; Kent, North Canton, Ohio, and Scott, Gardner. They also have five grandchildren.

Naff

William and Darlene Naff, Lawrence, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

William Naff and Darlene Votaw were married April 24, 1953, in Lawrence.

William is retired from Southwestern Bell after 33 years of service. Darlene has worked at various part-time jobs while raising her children.

The couple’s children are Bill “Bud” and Cindy Naff, Lawrence; Mark and Cindy Naff, Lawrence, and Powell and Kim Pendergraft, Buda, Texas. They also have seven grandchildren.

The couple plan to celebrate with a family dinner this summer.

Groene

Tom and Gaye Groene, Lawrence, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.

Tom Groene and Gaye Scott were married April 26, 1953, in Winfield.

The couple’s children are Marsha Buhler, Lawrence; Scott Groene, Salt Lake City; Brett Groene, Lawrence, and Jonathan Groene, Lawrence. They also have 11 grandchildren.

The couple plan to celebrate with their family during Memorial Day weekend.

Beeghley

Charles and Barbara Beeghley, Baldwin, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 4 at the home of John Beeghley.

They were married May 12, 1978. Their children are Hannah and Malcolm Markley, New Paris, Ohio; Bethany Beeghley, Pasco, Wash.; and Shannon Beegley, Esther Beeghley and Rebekah Beeghley, all of the home. They also have two grandchildren.
