Brown, Lorenz honored

Kansas University’s Paige Brown and Kim Lorenz were named to the women’s tennis academic all-Big 12 Conference first team, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Lorenz, a senior from Omaha, Neb., is a three-time, first-team academic all-conference award-winner. She owns an overall singles mark of 9-20 this season.

Brown, a sophomore from Amarillo, Texas, has an overall singles mark of 17-15.

First-team members have maintained a 3.20 or better grade-point average.

The KU tennis team will open play in the Big 12 Championships Thursday. The Jayhawks will face Colorado at noon at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo.
