Boy Scout Troop 61, chartered to St. Luke’s AME Church, had its Spring Court of Honor on March 11.
The following Scouts earned rank advancement: Jake Schultz, Life; Matt Sloan, Star; Jackson Gragg, Second Class, and Levi Klundt, Tenderfoot.
Josh Freeman, Danny Moses and Jake Schultz had earned merit badges since the last court of honor.
The following Scouts and adult leaders were recognized for their years of service: Spence Chaney, 7 years; Josh Freeman, 6 years; Josh Bailey, Malcolm Miller and David McGee, 5 years; Jake Schultz and Matt Sloan, 3 years; Danny Moses, 2 years; Christine O’Connor, 7 years; Jerry Schultz, 3 years, and Margaret Sloan, 2 years.
The Eagle Scout award, the highest rank that a boy can achieve in Scouting, was presented to Kelsey Mullis and Brandon McGuire.

Boy Scouts from Troop 53, chartered to First Christian Church, performed conservation work April 5 at Clinton Lake. They cut and transported willows to help restore vegetation to a section of shoreline. Scouts who participated were Mitch Grant, Aaron Ideus and Hamilton Lewis. Adult leaders Kip Grosshans and Eric Muetz also helped.
