Norma V. Hardman

? Services for Norma V. Hardman, 79, North Newton, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Newton.

Mrs. Hardman died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at her home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Las Animas, Colo., the daughter of McCulley and Vera Veida (Raymond) Ashlock. She graduated from Kansas University, where she was a member of the Honorary Mathematics Fraternity and the KU chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon.

Mrs. Hardman taught mathematics at middle school, high school and collegiate levels. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Newton.

She married Paul A. Hardman on April 25, 1943, in Newton. He died Jan. 27, 2002.

Survivors include three sons, Patrick C. Hardman, Monte Rio, Calif., Thomas Hardman, Wichita, and Paul A. Hardman III, Lawrence; a daughter, Terry Sue Hardman, Andover; a sister, Ann L. Wiebe, Newton; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A son, Timothy Hardman, died earlier.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday or from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
