The Lawrence 299ers Duplicate Bridge Club met April 2. Eleven pairs competed in a stratified game that used a Howell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Chuck Hedges and Yvonne Hedges claimed first place. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty finished second in A and first in B. Dan Osman and Olivier Urruty placed third. Artie Shaw and Harriet Olson placed fourth in A and second in B. Eldon Herd and Glenna Herd took fifth place. Helen Huffman and Bob Huffman came in third in B. Bobbi McCorkle and Dick Moore finished first in C.

Playing North-South, Chris Lane and Klee Zaricky claimed first place in A and B. Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough finished second. Harry Shaffer and Larry Bodle took third. Virginia Eddy and Shirlie Vaughn placed second in B. Judy Bevan and Linda Heavin finished first in C.

Sitting East-West, Judy Hildreth and Diane Childs claimed first place. Shirley Reese and Betty Collier finished second in A and first in B. Eldon Herd and Glenna Herd took third in A and second in B. Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell finished third in B. Dixie Nicholson and Anna De Thomas placed first in C.
