Author to discuss book at Lawrence Jewish Community Center
Leo Bretholz, author of the 1999 memoir “Leap into Darkness: Seven Years on the Run in Wartime Europe,” will speak about his experiences at 7:30 p.m. today at the Lawrence Jewish Community Center, 917 Highland Drive.
He is the 2003 guest speaker of the Lindenbaum Lecture, an event held every two years in memory of Siegfried Lindenbaum, a former professor in Kansas University’s school of pharmacy and longtime member of the Jewish community. He died in March 1993.
The lecture is free of charge and open to the public. No reservations are necessary to attend.
Copies of Bretholz’s book will be available at the event, and a book signing will follow his talk. Cost of the book is $12.95 per copy.
Funds raised from the sale of the books will go toward supporting the lecture series.
