4-H and FCE news
The Eudora 4-H Club met April 7 at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
Mary Cox gave a presentation about the chickens she is raising for her project. Matthew Kelso talked about his bucket calf and showed his grooming supplies. Sean Moran talked about the strobe light he made. Eddy Watson talked about the process he used to make the painting he plans to enter in the fair this year. Joanna Male informed the club about her pet chinchilla, which spins its tail and is native to the Andes Mountains.
Club members are reminded of the following dates:
- Sunday — 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., photography project meeting at the home of Tom and Sherry Moran.
- May 1 — 4-H enrollment cards due. It’s the last day to add or delete projects.
- May 3-4 — Trash barrel pickup duties.
The next meeting will follow the trash pickup at 3:30 p.m. May 4 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Members are asked to meet near the shelter houses. A pizza party will follow.

The Jayhawk 4-H Club met March 10 at Woodlawn School. It was Parents Night. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite holiday. Camp fees were discussed. The club decided to pay for all but $10 of everyone’s fee. Members were reminded that May 1 is the deadline to drop or add anyone.
The next meeting will be April 14 at Woodlawn School. The Wolfes and Trents will be hosts.

It was Parents Night at the Clinton Eagles 4-H Club March meeting. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite green food. Members sang “This Land Is Your Land.” Members who wanted to attend camp signed forms. May 1 is sign-up day for the Douglas County Free Fair.

Vinland FCE will meet Tuesday at the Vinland Methodist Church. Mary Lou Brown will be hostess. Lola Ford will give the lesson “Fish! Catch the Energy, Release the Potential.” Members will answer roll call by saying what would make their day.
