Walter W. Campbell

? Family memorial services for Walter W. Campbell, 95, Vista, will be April 20 in Vista. Burial will be in Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside.

Mr. Campbell died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at his home. He was cremated.

He was born Jan. 24, 1908, in Mulberry, Ark., the son of James and Ethel Campbell. He spent his early years near Rocky Ford, Colo.

Mr. Campbell was a county agricultural agent in Durango, Colo., and Lyndon, Kan., for many years. He was an agricultural adviser for the United States Agency for International Development in the 1960s, working in Iran, Afghanistan, Laos and Korea before retiring to Vista. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.

He married Jean Clark on June 12, 1942. She died in 1990.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynne Bodle, Lawrence, Kan., and Nancy Booth, Great Mills, Md.; a brother, James, San Diego; a sister, Zona Miller, Pueblo, Colo.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Eternal Hills Memorial Park Mortuary in Oceanside is in charge of arrangements.
