Texas A&M hires Arkansas coach
College Station, Texas — Gary Blair was hired as women’s basketball coach Monday at Texas A&M after spending the last 10 years at Arkansas.
He replaces Peggie Gillom, who had been at the school five years. The Aggies finished 10-18 and 3-13 in Big 12 Conference play.
Blair has a 408-163 record during 18 years at Arkansas and Stephen F. Austin. His teams have made 11 NCAA Tournament appearances.
Wisconsin names coach
Madison, Wis. — Lisa Stone was hired as the women’s basketball coach Monday at Wisconsin after going 64-27 in three seasons at Drake. She replaces Jane Albright, who resigned Feb. 25 after the university would not extend her contract. Wisconsin finished with a 7-21 record.
