Beisner-Selk shot 67 in Wednesday’s first round and 73 on Thursday for a score of 140. Don Kuehn and Russ Widmar, both of Kansas City, lead the pack going into today’s final round with a 57-68125.

Eagle Bend snares magazine ranking
Eagle Bend, Lawrence’s municipal golf course, has been ranked in Golf Digest magazine’s “Places to Play” for the second straight year.
Comments about the course ranged from reasonable pricing to the natural setting. Also, the contrast between the front-nine holes and the back-nine holes was listed as a positive feature. Reviewers also commented that the final four holes of the back-nine were “fantastic.”
The first six holes of the course are open with no trees. The remaining holes are heavily wooded and sit in the shadow of the Wakarusa River.
No signature hole is designated, but a consensus of golfers favor No. 16, a 560-yard par 5 with a split fairway, and No. 17, an elevated 165-yard par 3.
