Julie A. Stubbs

Mrs. Stubbs died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Olathe Medical Center. She had donated her body to Kansas University Medical Center because of her unusual heart condition. The remains were recently returned for services.

She was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Thibodeaux, La., the daughter of Alex and Madolia (Wesberry) Minnich. She moved to DeSoto in 1982, then to Gardner in 1994.

Mrs. Stubbs worked as a caregiver for children for many years. She and her husband opened P.J. Bait and Tackle shop in DeSoto in 1982. She closed it in 1994.

She married Preston Stubbs on July 16, 1953, in Bower Beach, Del. He died earlier.

Survivors include a son, Preston Stubbs, Paola.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assn., sent in care of the chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., DeSoto 66018.
