Jansen support

I have also seen people express how much they enjoy his contributions in newspaper articles and his frequent radio and TV programs. I have seen the hundreds of letters of support and thanks that Steve gets each year from community and school groups. I have also seen how he has dedicated the last 30 years of his life to enriching Lawrence and its historical legacy.

I ask anyone who has enjoyed Steve’s contributions to our community to make your support known to the Douglas County Commission and the Douglas County Historical Society Board of Directors. Steve’s supporters far outnumber his detractors. It has become clear that the commission and the historical society have heard from a few disgruntled people and may make a decision based on that information. I fear that Steve will be fired if his supporters do not speak up now! The county commission and the historical society board of directors are having a public meeting at 3 p.m. today at the Watkins Community Museum. If you value Steve and his contributions to our community, contact the county commission and the historical society board or come to the meeting. If you don’t, it may be too late.
