He was born April 11, 1903, in Wilson, the son of Joseph and Jennie (Kroft) Bednasek. He moved to Ellsworth from Wilson in 1945.

Mr. Bednasek was the owner of B & D Implement and was a Bankers Life and Casualty insurance agent. He was a World War II veteran of U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of American Legion in Wilson and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ellsworth.

He married Gertrude Schmoekel on April 29, 1945, in Ellsworth. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Judy Juneau, Lawrence, and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. today at the church. Mr. Bednasek lay in state from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Parsons Funeral Home in Ellsworth, where visitation was from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
