Lawrence district receives health grant

The Lawrence school district has received a $2,800 grant from the Kansas Health Foundation to help students get treatment for head lice.

Nurses in the district will use the money to provide educational materials and supplies to assist families in managing head lice at home, said Julie Boyle, the district’s communications director.

Kansas Health Foundation is a philanthropy based in Wichita. It awards grants for children’s health and public health.
