Omaha, Neb. ? Free State High picked up a pair of second-place finishes at the Millard South Cross Country Invitational Friday.

The Firebirds’ Alysha Valencia was second in the girls race in 15:11, and Hiral Bhakta was second in the boys race at 16:25. Free State’s Adrian Ludwig took seventh in 16:58.

Free State’s girls were fifth in the team race with 126 points. Shawnee Mission Northwest won the girls team title with 66 points.

The FSHS boys were fourth with 126 points. SM Northwest won the boys team title with 74 points.
