KU women golfers finish 14th in Classic

? Kansas University’s women’s golf team shot 309 a team-low for the tournament during Sunday’s final round to place 14th in the 35-team field at the Unlimited Potential-Bay Tree Classic.

Kansas finished with a three-round total of 949 on the 5,902 yard, par-72 Bay Tree Golf Plantation.

“I think that we had a great day to finish the tournament,” KU coach Megan Menzel said. “We are going to use what we did today and build for next week.”

Senior Jill MacDonald led Kansas by shooting a 77 to finish in a tie for 39th place with a total of 235.

Kansas will compete Sept. 16-17 in the Chip-N-Club Invitational at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb.
