Kansas University’s men’s basketball team has been ranked No. 2 by Athlon Sports. Arizona is No. 1, while Oklahoma is ranked third, Texas fifth and Missouri 33rd. KU’s Kirk Hinrich was named the magazine’s Big 12 player of the year while Nick Collison was selected first-team all-Big 12 and second-team All-American. The magazine will be released on Sept. 17.
