Tasteless photo

To the editor:

I was saddened to see the picture in the Aug. 30 paper showing the blood-stained highway where the young boy had been left to die by his father. I felt this picture was in bad taste. The story is disheartening enough, but to sensationalize this scenario by publishing that gruesome photo went beyond tasteless; it went directly to tabloid level.

The Journal-World has just shown me a lack of journalistic integrity and heart. Was that something the community really wanted (or needed) to see?

I should have seen it coming with the published picture of the KU student struck by lightning earlier this month. God forbid anything horrible should happen to a member of my family the last thing I would want is to see it plastered in photo-journalistic style in the Journal-World.
