Chamber orchestra lists officers, board members

The Lawrence Chamber Orchestra has announced its new officers and board members.

Eric Williams, an attorney, is president, assistant conductor and a member of the violin section. He replaces James Taylor, who was president the past two years. Vice president/president-elect is John Wilkinson, a retired attorney.

New board members are John Boulton, professor of flute at Kansas University; William Gaeddert, professor emeritus of music at Baker University in Baldwin; Lan Gegenheimer, a Lawrence dentist; Margaret Marco, assistant professor of oboe at KU; Richard Ring, librarian and courtesy assistant professor of history at KU; and John Solbach, a Lawrence attorney.

Continuing board members are Karen Anderson, concertmaster Chris Harnden, Julie Holmberg, James Ralston and Carol Worth. Bunker Clark is secretary-treasurer, and Bill Goodwin is general and personnel manager.

Lawrence musician to appear at state fair

Musician Ray Desmond, Lawrence, will perform Friday at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. He will perform at noon and 3 p.m. The Kansas State Fair runs through Sept. 15.
