Toronto ? Hayley Wickenheiser has a chance to become the first female position player in minor league hockey.

The 23-year-old forward, who starred for Canada’s Olympic team, has been offered a 15-game tryout with the East Coast Hockey League’s Cincinnati Cyclones.

Former NHL star Phil Esposito, a minority owner with the team, made the offer to Wickenheiser.
