Rena M. Ramey
Services for Rena M. Ramey, 93, Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. She donated her body to the Kansas University School of Medicine.
Mrs. Ramey died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, in her daughter’s home, Eudora.
She was born Nov. 4, 1908, in Mayview, Mo., the daughter of Forrest and Rovilla (Smarr) Puckett.
She moved to Lawrence in 1993 after living in the Kansas City area for more than 60 years. She was a homemaker and an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society. She also taught school for two years.
She married Orlan J. Ramey on Oct. 9, 1935, in Atchison. He died Oct. 24, 1972.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Adkinson, Eudora; a son, Richard Ramey, Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Tom Ramey, died in 1995.
The family will greet friends after the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
