Biffle awarded pole for Busch race

? Points leader Greg Biffle was granted the pole Friday when rain washed away qualifying for the NASCAR Busch Series Aaron’s 312 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Biffle, who leads Jason Keller by 105 points, starts on the pole for the sixth time this season and the second time because of bad weather. The top 35 were set by team owner points, with the rest of the 43-car field filled by cars making the most qualifying attempts this season.

Keller will start second today, followed by Winston Cup regular Jeff Green, Scott Wimmer and Jack Sprague. Green has made only 18 starts in the Busch Series, but his team is running the full schedule.

“We learned a little bit in the Winston Cup car that might help us in the Busch car,” Biffle said. “I’m pretty excited to be starting up front, but I’m not too happy with my rival starting beside me.”
