It's time to break out the hot chocolate and warm up the apple cider. Cool, damp autumn weather will hover over the Lawrence area for the next few days.
The forecast was pretty simple to make for Matt Makens, 6News meteorologist.
"There's not a lot to say except for: 'Cold, rainy, jackets and umbrellas,'" Makens said.
"Periods of rain can be expected today, tonight, tomorrow, tomorrow night before all is said and done. Temperatures are cold, so jackets and umbrellas are going to be a must."
The high Wednesday will be 43, with the temperature dipping down to 35 overnight, he said.
"We're expecting a half-inch to an inch of rain total for the next couple of days. It will be kind of a cold rain, but we're not expecting anything wintry," Makens said.
Thursday's high will be 45, with the overnight low Friday morning expected to be 35.
The weekend will be drier, with highs reaching 50 on Friday, 55 on Saturday and 55 on Sunday, he said.
"The next storm will come through Sunday and Monday," he said.
