Harriet Helene Howell Little

Alpine, Tex. Graveside services for Harriet Helene Howell Little, 77, Fort Davis, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Elm Grove Cemetery in Alpine.

Mrs. Little died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at a private care center in Fort Davis.

She was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Great Bend, Kan., the daughter of Chester Ernest and Ella Mae (Dunn) Howell. She graduated from Wichita East High School and received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Wichita State University. She moved in 1993 to Alpine.

Mrs. Little was a career employee in aviation, working at Beech and Cessna before joining Boeing Co. She was chief of operations analysis and a member of several national-level advisory councils, including the Army Science Board. She retired in 1991 from Boeing.

She married Ted E. Little on Aug. 16, 1946. He died in 1999.

Survivors include a son, Christopher Little, Alpine; a daughter, Corliss Ann Kearney, Lawrence, Kan.; a brother, Richard Howell, Dallas; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.
