Ruth Jameson Green

Manhattan Services for Ruth Jameson Green, 87, Olsburg, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Blue Valley Memorial United Methodist Church, Manhattan. Burial will follow in the Carnahan Creek Cemetery, Pottawatomie County.

Mrs. Green died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born April 16, 1915, in Garrison, the daughter of George Hamilton and Emma (Swan) Jameson. She grew up in the Blue Valley area and graduated in 1933 from Garrison High School and in 1940 from Kansas State University.

Mrs. Green wrote short stories and poems and taught school in Riley and Wabaunsee counties before marrying Reid Green on June 8, 1944. He died on Jan. 5, 1988.

Survivors include four sons, Rod, Houma, La., Ray, Olsburg, Russell, Topeka, and Rowan, Lawrence; one daughter, Reona Johnson, Olsburg; two brothers, Paul Jameson, Holton, Homer Jameson, Topeka; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call all day today and until noon Tuesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan.
