Clarence ‘Jim’ Bradshaw
Oskaloosa ? Services for Clarence James “Jim” Bradshaw, 63, Winchester, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Burial will be in Winchester-Wise Cemetery with American Legion honors conducted by the Overland Park American Legion Post.
Mr. Bradshaw died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born March 21, 1939, in Kansas City, Kan., and was adopted and raised by Clarence and Maggie (Pippen) Bradshaw. He had lived in rural Winchester for 35 years, having moved from the Kansas City area.
Mr. Bradshaw served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed carpenter and builder for several years in the Winchester area. He had formerly worked as a salesman for Moreman’s Feed Co. in the Winchester area. He also worked for seven years for General Motors Co. in Kansas City, Kan.
He was a member of the American Legion Post of Overland Park and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter of Kansas City, Mo. He also belonged to Oskaloosa Masonic Lodge No. 14 A.F. & A.M., York Rite and Scottish Rite bodies and Abdallah Shrine in Overland Park, where he was a longtime member of the Tin Lizzies group.
He married Betty Lou Welch on Feb. 18, 1960, in Missouri. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Jim, Winchester; a daughter, Cindy Lynn Nolting, Longmont, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
A grandson died Aug. 13, 1996.
