Wrong celebration

Instead of remembering and honoring Christian saints and one’s own Christian relatives and friends who have died in the faith, many Christians instead get involved in “trick or treating,” jack-o’-lanterns, witches, black cats, monsters, ghosts and skeletons. The lighted jack-o’-lantern dates back to pagan Europe. The fearsome face represents the pagan god, Samon, the god of the dead, and the fire represents lost souls flitting through the night.

Stores abound in Halloween articles to entice parents to help their children celebrate Halloween, the night of evil. I ask the managers of stores, “Is moneymaking that important to you?”

Let’s celebrate All Saints’ DayÂnot Halloween!
