Twila J. Stammeyer

She was born May 31, 1928, in the Acme community, south of Abilene, the daughter of Otis and Josie (Harrison) Sexton. She attended Sunnyside and Solomon schools.

Mrs. Stammeyer worked at Sears and Roebuck in Abilene as sales clerk, credit manager, audit clerk and supervisor until she retired in 1989 as branch manager. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Anthony and Grover Shock VFW Auxiliary, where she served as secretary and trustee. She was also a member of Dickinson Historical Society board of trustees as well as the Chapman Indian Hills Golf Course and its Ladies Club.

She married C.L. “Bud” Stammeyer on March 26, 1946. He died July 17, 1999.

Survivors include two sisters, Goldia Miller, Abilene, and Erma Bruns, Lawrence; and a brother, Floyd “Bill” Sexton, Abilene.
