Manhattan Services for Geraldine Will, 88, Manhattan, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Manhattan. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
Mrs. Will died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community.
She was born Oct. 29, 1913, near Milford, the daughter of Albert Walter and Goldie (Chambers) Irion. She graduated in 1930 from Junction City High School and in 1934 from Kansas University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
She lived in Muncie, Ind., and Jackson, Tenn., for a short time before moving to Memphis, Tenn., where she lived for almost 40 years.
From 1935 to 1940, Mrs. Will taught Spanish at Morrill and Hutchinson high schools. She also taught Spanish from 1959 to 1974 at White Station High School in Memphis.
She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and the Women's Guild, American Association of University Women, KU Alumni Association and Tennessee Lambda Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa.
She moved to Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan in 1983.
She married Harry W. Will on Sept. 16, 1940, in Hutchinson. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Harriet Shaffer, Lawrence, and Janet Nuse, Fayette, Mo.; a sister, Wilma I. Mitchell, San Marcos, Calif.; a brother, Robert E. Irion, Sandy, Utah; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, Manhattan, which is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests memorials to St. Luke's Lutheran Church or Meadowlark Hills Foundation Good Samaritan Fund. They may be sent in care of the funeral home, 1616 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan 66502.
