Baker, Haskell on road today

Offense-starved Haskell Indian Nations University’s football team will be on the road today in hopes of ending its long losing streak.

Meanwhile, Baker University also will be on the road for its only nonconference test of the season.

Winless Peru State will play host to the Fightin’ Indians in its homecoming game. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Oak Bowl in Peru, Neb.

Haskell, without a victory since the third game of the 2000 season, will try to generate some offense against the Bobcats. HINU (0-5) has been blanked in its last two outings and has scored just 36 points all season. The Indians are averaging only 78.8 yards of offense per game.

Baker (3-2) will be in Bethany, Okla., today to meet Southern Nazarene. The Crimson Storm is 3-2 and coming off a stirring 29-23 victory against William Jewell last Saturday.
