Stanley G. Smith

DeSoto ? Services for Stanley G. Smith, 93, DeSoto, will be at 2 p.m. today at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in DeSoto. Graveside services will follow at DeSoto Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Eudora Nursing Center.

He was born Feb. 28, 1909, in Martinsville, Mo., the son of Charles and Martha (Glenn) Smith.

Mr. Smith was a farmer in Harrison County, Mo. He moved to DeSoto in 1952, where he worked for the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and as a maintenance man for Sunflower Village.

He married Jewell Tilley on April 17, 1930. She died earlier.

Survivors include a son, Roger, DeSoto; a daughter, Virginia Sims, DeSoto; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today at the chapel.
