He was born May 23, 1921, in Columbus Junction, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Dora Crumly.

He served in the Army from 1942 to 1946. He then did contract and carpentry work for 50 years. Mr. Crumly moved to the DeSoto area in 1977. He belonged to Masonic Lodge No. 40 of DeSoto and was once Kansas Mason of the year.

He married Dorothey Hubbard on July 4, 1943. She died in 1981.

Survivors include a son, Mike, Lenexa; three brothers, Robert, Muscatine, Iowa, Lester, Wilton Junction, Iowa, and Lloyd, Milam, Tex.; and two grandsons.

Another grandson died earlier.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
