What’s the rush?

To the editor:

We recently attended a dinner party served buffet style at a local establishment. The food was plentiful, and the settings lovely. But before the last guests in line were seated to enjoy their meal, the servers were circulating to remove plates. One member of our family was asked three times if she was finished with her half-eaten meal. Our grandson lifted his fork for a bite of salad, only to find it had been taken when he turned his head for a moment.

Our hosts would never have this happen in their own homes. I consider it not only annoying, but extremely rude. In view of the price paid for the dinner, the guests should have been allowed to eat it.

I am not naming the establishment, but I am sending them a copy of this letter in hopes that they, and others, will change this practice.

Betty Mole,
