Deer permits limited to season

? Wildlife and Parks conservation officers have reported some confusion regarding the agency’s resident white-tailed either-sex permits, which are sold over the counter.

Apparently, some hunters have been under the impression these permits are valid in any season. This is not the case. Resident white-tailed either sex permits are valid with equipment legal to the season only in the early muzzleloader season (which ended Sept. 27) and in the regular firearms season, which runs Dec. 4-15.

White-tailed antlerless-only permits, unlike white-tailed either-sex permits, may be used in any season with equipment legal for that season. This permit may be used anywhere statewide, including Wildlife and Parks land.

White-tailed antlerless only deer game tags also are valid in any season with equipment legal for that season.
