Hall Center, museum offer history program

Kansas University’s Hall Center for the Humanities and the Watkins Community Museum of History will team to present “Our History Part II: Listening to America/Lawrence, 1945-1972.”

The series, a follow-up to a series on early Lawrence history held in spring 2000, will run from 6 pm. to 8 p.m. on three consecutive Wednesdays Oct. 9, 16 and 23 at the museum, 1047 Mass.

Steve Jansen, the museum’s historian, and KU faculty will present the programs, which are free and open to the public. Box suppers will be provided for free for those who pre-register by calling 864-4798.

The topics are:

Oct. 9, “Community Redefined: Has the Automobile Helped or Hindered?”

Oct. 16, “Race Relations: Free State Ideals and Jim Crow Patterns.”

Oct. 23, “Colliding Values: Berkeley on the Kaw.”

Kansas University has announced the following final examination:
