Ash-Mages

Michelle Christina Ash, Lawrence, and Kelly George Mages, Overland Park, were married July 20, 2002, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina, with Father Fred Gatchet officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David and Mary Sue Wallerius Ash, Salina. The groom is the son of Leroy and Bernice Mages, Spearville.

Maid of honor was Courtney Ash. Bridesmaids were Melissa Weiser, Nicole Knipp and Stacie Frain. Best man was Kevin Mages. Groomsmen were Paul Mages, Brett Ary and Mike McClintic.

Christopher Ash, Ryan Ash, Travis Powell and Levi Benjamin were ushers. Meredith Aistrup was flower girl. Sydney McClintic was personal attendant to the bride. Rob and Angie Melton and Randy and Michelle Mettling were program distributors. Kelley Drake and Mary Benjamin were guest book attendants. Ryan Bradbury and Emily Bradbury were gift table attendants.

Brad Nicks and Kelli Nicks were candlelighters. Kevin Jacobs was lector. Ruth Konda was cantor. Karla Mages, Christopher Ash and Ryan Ash were gift bearers. Eucharistic ministers were Toni Aistrup, Frank Mages and Cletus Mages. Drew Clark and Kiersten Clark were altar servers. Music was provided by the David Lowe String Trio, Judy Weber and Ruth Konda.

A dinner and dance reception followed at the Salina Country Club. Patrick and Patricia Tratler Wallerius were hosts.

The bride graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Salina. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in math from Baker University. She is a math teacher and softball coach at Mill Valley High School. She is pursuing a master’s degree at Baker University.

The groom is a graduate of Spearville High School. He graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He is employed by Feist Publications in Kansas City, Kan.

The couple reside in Overland Park.
