Koch services

She was born Feb. 25, 1902, near Hiawatha, the daughter of Christopher Elmer and Estella Isola (Osgood) Leibengood. She graduated from Paola High School, earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1926 from Kansas University and a master of arts in history in 1933 from KU.

Mrs. Koch taught school for 12 years. She also had jobs at Standard Life Insurance and the Burlington Republican before she was employed for more than 25 years in the Division of Continuing Education at KU. She retired in 1968.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Alpha Omicron Pi and PEO, and was a life member of the KU Alumni Association and its Jayhawk Society.

She married Fritz Koch in 1936 in Topeka. He died in 1987.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to the church or the Good Samaritan Fund at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
