Topeka woman killed in K-10 car-deer accident

A Topeka woman was killed when her car struck a deer Wednesday morning on Kansas Highway 10 west of DeSoto, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Valorie A. De Hart, 48, Topeka, was killed when her 1992 Chevrolet Geo hit a deer and flipped about 6:22 a.m. as she was eastbound on K-10 about 17 miles east of Lawrence, the highway patrol reported.

De Hart lost control, crossed the center median across the west bound lanes and struck a rock wall, causing her car to overturn and come to rest on its top, state troopers said.
